Dynamic behaviour of Plasmas

Perturbations of the plasma equilibrium due to turbulence or global magneto-hydrodynamic instabilities may strongly influence the global magnetic confinement. Therefore the division Stellarator Scenario Development develops diagnostics and mathematical analysis tools to investigate the corresponding fluctuations of plasma quantities.

VINETA 

Besides this department is investigating basic questions of the dynamic behaviour of plasma waves and instabilities as well as questions of plasma edge physics by operating the linear plasma generator  VINETA in Greifswald.
