Theory and Ab Initio Simulation of Plasma Turbulence

The university junior research group for Theory and Ab Initio Simulation of Plasma Turbulence was established by IPP in conjunction with the Institute of Theoretical Physics (ITP) of Wilhelm University in Münster, Westphalia. For investigation of turbulence in magnetised plasmas the scientific expertise is to be culled from various fields – fluid turbulence, non-linear dynamics, and statistical mechanics. The interdisciplinary approaches enlisted range from simple analytical models to ab initio simulation on massively parallel computers.
