You will be welcomed by a tour guide and will experience the abbey at Weltenburg, marvel at the Weltenburger Enge canyon and learn how the abbey survives the annual floods.
Have a look into the baroque church interior designed and created by the Asam Brothers between 1716 and 1718. Your guide will show you the abbey's storied past from the early Middle Ages onward and will tell you why monks began early on with the brewing of beer, and how brewing in this tradition is still carried on at Weltenburg. The crowning glory: a beer tasting of the famous Weltenburger beer, including the multi-award-winning "Barock Dunkel".
The “Weltenburger Enge” (Danube Gorge) is an outstanding place for nature and culture. With its legendary rock structures, it characterizes the region in a unique way. And it is a hot spot for biodiversity. King Ludwig recognized this beauty and special feature back in 1840 and made the area a nature reserve. The “Weltenburger Enge” is Bavaria's first National Natural Monument.
