The Max-Planck-Institute for Plasma Physics in Greifswald offers within the division Stellarator Reactor Studies a PostDoc-position for a Physicist or Engineer (m/f/d) for the development of computational models of engineering components
Your tasks
- Responsibility for developing computational models of engineering components (such as Magnet System, Power Balance, etc.) to be used in integrated Stellarator reactor studies.
- Active involvement and support of Stellarator reactor studies, e.g. through interface specification
- Publication and communication of scientific results
- As IPP is commitment to talent management, the supervision of PhDs and students is considered an integral part of scientific work
Your profile/Our requirements
- PhD in the field of physics or engineering
- Advanced knowledge/skills in programming and code development
- Experience in working with complex code frameworks
- Experience in surrogate modelling beneficial
- Fundamental knowledge in magnetic confinement fusion beneficial
- An excellent command of written and spoken English
Your abilities
- Ability to manage and organize projects with realistic time planning
- Ability to work constructively in a large international team
