W2 “Scavenger Hunt through the 13th Century”

We are in Regensburg in the 13th century. It's spring and the long-distance trader Hugo von den Walchen is planning his next trading expedition to Italy. Unfortunately, last year's trading journey was full of trouble with robbers, bad weather and cheating merchants. So this year, he wants to make sure that his team is well prepared for the trading expedition and has all the necessary skills. This includes things like being able to defend themselves, handling horses well, recognizing bad goods, having a good memory and good fine motor skills. To test all these skills, he has set up a rally through the town. Here, the aspirants have to prove that they are suitable for the long journey. Also taking part are Theresa von den Walchen, Hugo's ambitious daughter, and the farmhand Armin. However, these two have very different approaches to the matter. First and foremost, the strict Theresa wants to make sure that everything is done strictly according to the rules to make her father proud. Armin, on the other hand, wants first and foremost to avoid being sent to Italy and therefore does everything he can to ensure that the applicants do as well as possible.
