Data acquisition and data processing
Storing and analysis of data takes place on a central Piwik server, which is operated by the Max Planck Society. Of course, you may object to the collection of data. Objecting is very simple, it only takes one click. Further information on which data is collected and on your options to object is available in the Data Collection Declaration.
The integration of external services such as Youtube or Amazon Cloud is always undertaken in a considerate manner and with the aim of making your visit on our websites as pleasant as possible.
We must advise you, however, that your IP address and perhaps other data related to your person will be transmitted to the service provider concerned (Amazon etc.) and may be stored or analyzed there.
The data protection officer of the Max Planck Society is available for questions concerning the topic of data protection at firstname.lastname@example.org or +49 89 2108-1554.
Personalised services / newsletters
Insofar as you have decided to make us of a personalised service or to register with a newsletter service, your data needed for this purpose will be stored. As a rule, this will comprise your e-mail address, name and surnames, and other data depending on the particular service. Your data will be used merely to ensure that the service you require is provided to your satisfaction, and that enquiries from you are clarified. Should you want to discontinue a personalised service, your personal data will be deleted on cancellation. If you want to cancel a newsletter subscription, you can either send us an e-mail or use the cancellation link at the end of the newsletter mail.
Your personal data will be transmitted to government agencies and authorities only in such cases as required by law or in the criminal prosecution of attacks on our network infrastructure. There will be no transfer of your data to third parties for other purposes.
