Herrenchiemsee Castle
On Wednesday afternoon a boat trip to the neighbouring ‚Herreninsel‘ (mens island) is planned.
We will wander around in the garden and will take a guided tour through the castle.
Schloss Herrenchiemsee, built by King Ludwig II starting in 1878, is a magnificent "Bavarian Versailles" located on an island in Lake Chiemsee, designed as a tribute to King Louis XIV. Key highlights include the massive Hall of Mirrors (larger than Versailles), the ornate State Staircase, and the "table deck dich" dining table.
