Excursion to Wendelstein 7-X and guided tour through Greifswald

On Wednesday afternoon, 7 October, we offer a guided tour in Griefswald and an excursion to the Wendelstein 7-X stellarator at the Max Planck Institute for Plasma Physics in Greifswald.

Wendelstein 7-X is a superconducting stellarator device under construction at the Institute. It is one of the most modern fusion research devices world wide. First experiments start in 2015. This tour offers a visit of the experimental hall with the device.

There is also the possibility to take part in a guided walk trough the medieval hanseatic city centre of Greifswald.

Due tue the number of participants two groups will be formed.

first group:
2 p.m. to 4 p.m.: excursion to Wendelstein 7-X (guided tour to the experiment Wendelstein 7-X, Torus hall)
4 p.m. to 6 p.m.: guided walk trough the heart of the historic centre of Greifswald

second group:
2 p.m. to 4 p.m.: guided walk trough the heart of the historic centre of Greifswald
4 p.m. to 6 p.m.: excursion to Wendelstein 7-X (guided tour to the experiment Wendelstein 7-X, Torus hall)

starting point: Krupp-Kolleg at 1:50 p.m.

A bus departs for the excursion to Wendelstein 7-X at bus station "Bahnhofstraße":

2:00 p.m. (first group) and

4:00 p.m. (second group)
