Summer University for Plasma Physics at IPP in Greifswald

Apply now / training in the summer vacation

March 17, 2016

Registration for IPP’s Summer University has now started: Physics and engineering students from the whole of Europe can apply to Max Planck Institute for Plasma Physics (IPP) in Greifswald till 31 May 2016.

From 19 to 23 September 2016 the Summer University is giving the opportunity to get detailed information on plasma physics and fusion research: The objective of IPP’s research is to develop a power plant that, like the sun, derives energy from fusion of atomic nuclei. To ignite the fusion fire the fuel, a hydrogen plasma, has to be confined in magnetic fields and heated to temperatures exceeding 100 million degrees.
