Accommodation

Garching town offers excellent infrastructure and direct underground connections both to the Max Planck Institute for Plasma Physics (U6, one stop to terminus Garching-Forschungszentrum, exit directly in front of the IPP main gate) and to Munich city centre (U6, Marienplatz, approximately 22 minutes).

Participants are kindly requested to arrange their own accommodation and cover the associated costs. Reservations can be made online or by telephone. A list of hotels in Garching — including two located within the research centre next to IPP and one option in the northern part of Munich — is provided on the meeting’s  Indico page. 

Most hotels in Garching are situated near the town centre, with a few in the Garching-Hochbrück business area. The IPP site can be reached easily from both areas by the U6. Walking from the town centre takes about 25–35 minutes and is a pleasant option in good weather.

Hotels in Munich are also suitable, but it is advisable to choose one located near a U6 station for convenient direct connection to the meeting venue.

As accommodation may be limited during trade fairs, early booking is strongly recommended.
