Recent developments and latest results around the ASDEX Upgrade device, Germany’s largest tokamak, are published in the ASDEX Upgrade Letter.

The new issue reports on tailor-made instabilities at the plasma edge – an important topic with respect to ITER –, on the modifications and improvements which have been carried out during the shutdown in 2011, and on the experimental plans: More than one quarter of the 215 experimental proposals submitted were contributed by non-IPP scientist from all over Europe.
