Garching-Forschungszentrum has an excellent subway connection to the city centre, line U6, running about every 10 minutes from Marienplatz, the journey takes 30 minutes. Leaving the subway, take exit "Boltzmannstrasse" and turn to the IPP entrance gate just ahead of you. The Institute for Plasma Physics, Building D2, is about 3 minutes' walk from the gate.

The Institute holds a limited number of rooms at Hotel-Gasthof Maisberger. The Institute will book the room for you, based on the dates you mention in your registration. Price for a single room, including breakfast is EUR 85,00 for the dates 7 to 8 October 2012. The price for the dates 8 to 12 October 2012 is EUR 65,00, including breakfast. Guests pay directly at the hotel, all major credit cards areaccepted.

Transport from the airport to the hotel:
Take the S-Bahn line "S1" (not "S8"!) and Neufahrn is the second stop.
To get to the Institute at Garching-Forschungszentrum by public transport, take regional bus line No. 690.
