ESF Exploratory Workshop

Conference Site

The Max-Planck-Institut für Plasmaphysik (IPP) in Garching near Munich is concerned with investigating the physical principles underlaying a nuclear fusion power plant, which - like the sun - will gain energy from the fusion of light atomic nuclei. For this in both large-scale experiments ASDEX Upgrade and WENDELSTEIN 7-X the conditions are investigated which allow fusion reactions in a hot ionized gas - a plasma.

The meeting is in the building of the Tokamak Theory division, named L5, 2nd floor.
