Max Planck Institute for Plasma Physics is an institute of the Max Planck Society. It is associated with the European Fusion Programme and the Helmholtz Association of German Research Centres.
IPP's work is decided by the following executive and advisory boards:
Directorate
The Directorate of IPP is responsible for conducting the day-to-day business, deciding on the use of budget funds, supervising and regulating the course of research work, deciding on personnel matters, and representing IPP internally and externally. It comprises:

Supervisory Board
The Supervisory Board advises the Directorate and Board of Scientific Directors on the scientific programme and its consequences for the proposed budget, and accordingly settles the budget. Besides the President of the Max Planck Society, the Supervisory Board comprises four representatives from politics and four others appointed by the Max Planck Society.
